The Friendly Frogs are a bright, lively bunch of 3-5 year olds who are eager to learn! They especially love playing the the dramatic play and block centers in our room. Our program is an all day preschool program located in an elementary school. We are a part of a public school system that lost its accreditation a few years ago and is working to gain it back. Over 85% of students at the school are on free and reduced lunch. In 2010, the school received a School Improvement Grant to help improve standardized test scores that have been consistently low, even for the district. My hope is to give the students in my classroom a jump start on a good education by laying a good foundation of pre-academic and other life skills for them to build on as they continue their academic careers.
