I will be a first year 1st grade teacher at Key School in South Philadelphia for the 2018-2019 school year. I am excited to work at the school where I have student taught at and gotten to know and love in the past year. However, as a Title I school with 100% of the school population being economically disadvantaged and 55% being English Language Learners, I want to make sure I can meet my students' needs. Our students come from all over the world, representing languages, such as: Spanish, Khmer, Nepali, Vietnamese, Lao, Indonesian, French, Swahili, Lingala, Burmese, Cantonese, Tagalog, Pashto, and Malay. Consequently, it is crucial that my instruction and classroom climate is linguistically and culturally relevant.
