In kindergarten students are learning print concepts and beginning reading skills. A listening center and interesting books will provide them with the daily opportunities to engage in rigorous texts as they practice their skills.
The students loved when I read "Where the Wild Things Are" and this set gives them the opportunity to listen to it regularly as they practice building the skills to read it on their own. Students will also be able to practice print concepts such as the front and back of books, directionality, and more. A listening center will be a great additional to our center rotations and encourage the love and joy of reading among my students.
