People have amazing stories to tell, but what happens when those books are not available for kids to access? They miss out on learning about significant people, events and movements. They miss out on the stories that inspire and motivate. Each day my middle school students begin the hour with time to read. With a wide range of interests and abilities, I strive to keep a variety of genres and books available for all my students. My students need books that not only teach, but also motivate, inspire and foster a love of reading. Our classroom strives to have a library which contains a variety of genres that interests all students. Non-fiction, biographies, award winning historical fiction, sports books and more are needed to help engage the reluctant readers, sports enthusiasts and historians within my classroom. Donations from this project will place high quality and engaging books in the hands of middle school readers. It all starts with reading. This donation will help to keep kids reading by allowing for more students to have access to a larger variety of quality and award winning books that motivate, engage and grow that love of reading, even for the most reluctant readers.
