As we enter into our second half of the school year, the needs of my students consistently show they learn best through exploration, imagination and play. While we have had the experience of working with borrowed STEM kits, the time has come for us to have our own.
Research shows that students learn best through hands-on activities, collaboration, and fun. The materials I am requesting will help students engage with our math, social studies, literacy, and science curriculum as well as teaching students to be productive and kind team members. The Fairy Tale themes of the STEM kits make them accessible for all learners, by providing a common entry point and the various levels of kits assure I am meeting the needs of all of my students. I plan to use the materials during literacy stations and will extend the activity by requiring students to summarize their learning and reflect on their role as a team member.
Thank you for your consideration; my students and I greatly appreciate it!
