My students are fearless and diligent individuals despite the fact that almost all of them live below the poverty line. Over 95% of our students are on free and reduced lunch. Many are learning English as a second language.
Yet, they overcome the daily struggles of poverty and language to come to school for an extended, 8-hour school day, determined to be a force of change in the world.
These students deserve the best opportunities to learn in the classroom, because they will be tomorrow's leaders.
