Funding this project of six active learning stools will provide more seating options for my students. We currently only have room for two standing spaces in our classroom. These stools will provide more students access to release energy, without needing to stand around the room working on the tops of our bookshelves. Adding these stools would be the first step in providing students with flexible seating options in our classroom. The rocking motion ability of these learning stools will help keep students on task while they release pent up energy.
Flexible seating options created with these learning stools will allow students to take charge of their learning environment. The stools will decrease the number of students in the classroom wiggling their feet against the chairs and tapping their writing utensils on the desks. This will create an environment with less distractions for all students. The stools also encourage proper posture, which is even more important now that we are using one-to-one devices.
