The best part of my job is that I get to teach eager students. They want to learn; they try hard every day and they aren't afraid to ask me for help. I teach English language learners, and they need a lot of help.
These kids have moved to a new country and are trying to learn a new language and culture at the same time they are learning the content from the standards.
My school just recently began an ELL (English Language Learner) program and our numbers are growing every year, but space in my school is limited. I needed a place to teach two classes, but there wasn't a classroom for me to utilize. However, there was a half-size room being used by the vision teacher. She was kind enough to share with my students and me. We are very grateful for a place to learn.
The main issue with our room is space. We have very large tables in the room, and that combined with the materials of two different teachers plus a paraprofessional makes for a crowded space once you bring in students with their books.
