Inspired by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and the Four Cs (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity), this project enables students to engage with STEM technologies and creatively communicate stories of local and global importance. Specifically, grant funds for this project will be used to purchase parts for a custom computer that students will use to broadcast sports and events from our high school to the world, for free. Requested materials include a motherboard, processor, keyboard and mouse, and an LED monitor. Not only will students build their own computer, they'll also use that computer to livestream sports and events to the community. A group of four students picked out all the parts for the custom computer and plan to assemble it. The computer will then be passed on to the 30 livestream students, who will use it in conjunction with professional broadcast software and cameras to stream choir, band, basketball, football, volleyball, wrestling, cheer, dance, school plays, and more.
