It's more than just a carpet! It's a designated space that encourages friendships to blossom, small group learning to flourish, and a space to enhance unforgettable fun for kindergarteners. It's an area to gather each day, to laugh, sing, dance, and engage in learning activities. A specific carpeted area, within an early childhood classroom, helps to promote positive behaviors, and creates a warm and friendly environment for little learners. This carpet, in particular, helps define a space for "circle time", and gives each child an easy to understand place to go for group learning activities. Research proves that when kids are given a defined space to go to, they learn routines faster, and are typically less distracted while learning, when they have an assigned space to transition to. A large carpet like this, also helps to reduce slips and falls from early learners, while they are engaged in daily brain-breaks. We could really use this carpet to expand our learning space withing our classroom. As a teacher, I spend a good portion of my day on the floor with my students. A carpet is not only easier on the bodies of my little people, but also for us teachers and our creeky bones! Thanks for considering us and our project!
