My students may be young, but they are always eager and excited to learn something new. Their passion for learning is such an inspiration to me, but since I teach at an inner-city school where breakfast and lunch are provided to every student daily, within a district that consists mainly of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, our funds are stretched. What used to be a five hundred dollar budget for classroom materials has been cut drastically.
I am determined to close the achievement gap and provide my students with everything necessary for them to succeed!
I would love to provide my students with more materials and opportunities for engaging, hands-on and interactive learning experiences, especially as we transition back into a fully in-person setting, but that becomes difficult with a very small budget for classroom materials.
