Remember sitting in a chair and listening to your teacher? Did you drift off and wonder? Did you start to rock and play in your seat? Well I have 25 2nd graders who feel the same way! They need to move! Flexible seating allows children to be moving while they are sitting and working or listening to me teach! The Wobble Chair and Jellyfish let students move and bounce while staying seated. When students are moving they are learning. Not everyone can sit and listen.
Students need to move! They need to get their energy out in a productive and non distracting way! Flexible seating helps with this movement. I have a students with diverse needs. I teach in a general classroom where we include students who have special needs or are just very active. This type of seating will allow them to feel more comfortable in the classroom and get them moving without being distracting!
