We are a community of individuals who work independently and together to be successful even though we learn and work in different ways.
I am a firm believer in keeping the focus on what's important...the students. If higher student engagement and motivation is the desired accomplishment, then educators must adapt right along with the students in our classrooms. The 21st-century is a fast paced and ever-changing world full of choices. How can we expect our children to solve problems and make independent choices if we are always doing it for them. My experiences have found that the more power I give up in my classroom, the more power I get back. I've also noticed my students increased self-awareness of what types of seating and environment help them learn best. And they're empowered by the opportunity to have choices.
