The materials provided by this project will afford students the opportunity to continue to learn about the fine arts through theater. Students will be exposed to acting techniques, and through the scripts, vocabulary can be taught at different levels (cross-curricular learning opportunities). In addition, students will learn about the technological aspects of a performance such as lights and sound, which they may carry with them into college or another career outside of school. The base supplies requested are what is needed to begin working on next year's musical performance "Willy Wonka", and without these supplies, our performance may not draw the interest needed to continue with our program or have the quality program that the students deserve.
We have no yearly budget that we are given to work with, therefore contributions such as supplies are a great asset to the program, and the program involves students in 3rd-12th grade, and every single class in our district from K-12 views the performance.
