As a teacher, it only makes sense to continue to grow in my practice, both to stay up-to-date in-current practices and to best meet the needs of my students/teachers. I am taking a step to deepen my teaching practice by going through arguably the most rigorous teaching evaluation process offered by a third party service called National Board Certification for Teaching Professional Standards. I am requesting funds for the first 2 components (for a total of 4 components) of the certification process. My certification will deepen and hone my practices in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts ages 3-12.
Literacy has been and continues to be the passion that I bring to my coaching role and the classrooms that I am a part of. Being a teacher is who I am. Being a stronger literacy teacher is who I am continually pushing myself to be and I look forward to becoming a better educator, teacher and mentor. Through extensive reflection and self assessment by the National Board certification process, I will not only better my teaching skills but be able to meet the needs of all the students/teachers that I am and will be serving.
