I teach a diverse group of on-grade level English students in Maryland. My goals are to create an engaging, supportive, and productive environment where my students can grow as readers and writers. I focus on building empathy through reading novels that reflect diverse perspectives and experiences. Many of my students share that they did not enjoy reading books until they had my class (which is the ultimate compliment). One of my biggest goals as an English teacher is helping students find their voice, through both writing and public speaking. I make time to conference with students one-on-one to discuss writing feedback and provide the support students need to grow. Thank you for considering my classroom as one to support!
