I am a kindergarten teacher at a low-income public school in Florida. This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching kindergarten, and I am very excited! In order to be an effective teacher, I need a new easel that will meet my class' needs. I currently do not have an easel in my classroom. An easel works as a writing, reading, and math tool. The easel that I am requesting has a two dry erase boards, is magnetic, has tubs for storage, and holds big books.
Having a two-sided easel with magnetic dry erase boards will be an amazing teaching tool. I can prepare multiple activities and provide students with the opportunity to work on various tasks. One of the boards is lined and will help with improving handwriting. In addition, since it can be hung vertically, can be used in math when learning place value. One of the most important elements of the easel is that it is magnetic. We will do a lot of word work with magnetic letters and it is crucial to have a place to use them on. The big book storage will allow me to keep the big books in a place where I can easily refer to. Big books are used to teach various lessons and having them on the easel will just make them easier to use. The tub storage is an added benefit of the easel. The tubs will hold the magnetic letters and various teaching tools. The easel will meet all of my teaching needs and provide a hands-on experience for my students. I need an easel that will hold the materials that I use on a daily basis and provide a space for the magnetic material.
