I am in my twelfth year teaching, and this is my second year as music teacher in a Title I elementary school. Most of our students live in poverty and receive free and reduced meals. Seventy percent of my students do not speak English at home. Even though my students are facing many challenges outside of school, they all have an eagerness to learn. They all deserve every possible opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. I am working to build a culture of young students who become life-long musicians and music lovers!
