My students come from low-income families (96.7% of our students receive free or reduced meals) who struggle to remain excited to come to school and do their work as many of them don't have follow-up support at home. Our district has a 73.6% high school graduation rate and of those students, less than 10% meet state standard for English/Language Arts and/or math.
