I am blessed to teach at the elementary school where I attended myself many years ago. Englewood is a picturesque community located between two counties flourishing with both new and old families. Though Englewood Elementary School is in the Sarasota County School District we have many students from our neighbor school district as well. My students are socioeconomic diverse and it is my goal to give students more control over their own daily lives at school and in my classroom. I encourage responsibility and leadership by offering choices, having students engage in projects, and support teamwork. I find it difficult to continue to give my students these opportunities without a continues supply of classroom equipment including technology. To do this, it would not be possible without the support of Donors Choose and I truly appreciate every one involved.
