Every child deserves to feel prepared and ready for the school day ahead of them. Having the supplies they need will help ease students' stress and allow them to focus on the many things they will explore and learn throughout the day.
These supplies will be an everyday staple for my students! I use 3-ring binders as a means of communication to parents as well as a way to send home important information and student work. The pencil pouches will be filled with the materials and supplies needed to complete homework and projects at home and placed in student's binders. The glue sticks and crayons allow students to be as creative as possible without being hindered by limited resources. The building bricks will allow students yet another way to be creative and engage various ways of learning, and the storage bins, tissues, and Clorox wipes will help everyone stay organized and germ free while they learn and grow.
Research has shown that not meeting student's basic needs has a negative correlation on their motivation to learn.
While the majority parents I encounter make sure their children are provided with food and safe shelter, there isn't enough money left over to provide the basic school supplies needed for everyday learning. Your help is desperately needed to ensure these students have many of the things they need feel prepared and ready for their school day!
