I work with nearly all 330 students who come to the library every week to learn library and technology skills, work in the maker space, study, read, and access the computers for searches, NewsELA, and CS First Coding. I also work with groups of ESL and on the Autism Spectrum students who come into the library to use the computers for enrichment. Last Fall, the computers were relocated to one-size desktop tables and a counter. Unfortunately, the library chairs are either too short or too tall, and my younger students have trouble reaching the keyboards unless they kneel on the chairs. When the chairs are all pulled out, there is no room to walk through to the teaching area. This is a potentially dangerous situation.
Our library serves many different grade levels and students need access to the computers, keyboards, and adjustable seating.
My students need 6 stools that can be pulled up to computer stations so they can comfortably reach the keys to do their searches, word processing, nonfiction articles, and CS Coding. These stools are adjustable so that all my students can use them, no matter which grade level, height, or weight.
There is no money in the library budget for furniture, so my students need the help of donors. Please help.
