My class consists of 23 1st grade students. I have a very diverse group of children in my class, with about 5 students who are considered advanced, 3 students who are on-level and 15 students who are below grade level. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. This is also true for our rural school of approximately 400 students in grades Pre-K - 6th grade. Our school is behind the times where technology is concerned due to little to no funding. We have access to approximately 29 iPads and 20 Nooks for a school of 400 children. Our computer lab only has 25 computers, with only half of these working. Most of our classes have 20 plus students each, so this amount of technology is not enough to ensure our students are ready for the real world.
