My students come from a low-income, urban community where they face many challenges. My students are excited to walk into our classroom each day because we have created a safe learning environment. My classroom has a diverse population; about half of my student are refugees. All students deserve the chance to have a high quality education with materials that will help them reach their full potential. Unfortunately, my students are unable to bring these tools with them each day. My students deserve the opportunity to be prepared, organized, creative and ready to learn.
