This year our school has decided to increase its Club Day to include all K-5 students which totals approximately 1,000 students. I want to begin a 10-week LEGO Club where students encounter engaging and hands-on activities while doing STEM experiments and activities.
The LEGO Club will ignite the students' desire to explore, discover and build life-long learners...all while playing with LEGO'S! Students will enhance their understanding of science, math and engineering while developing their 21st-century skills of collaboration, communication and problem solving.
As a member of the LEGO Club, students will design and create a
balloon-powered car, a marble maze, and a famous landmark. Also, there will be various LEGO challenge competitions held throughout the 10-week period which will further test students' LEGO skills. The LEGO Club will continue after the 2017-2018 year so the materials purchased with this grant will impact more students every year.
