My students work very hard to do their best every day. Sometimes their best means showing up to school with a smile on their face. Sometimes their best means coming to school even though they didn't sleep or eat the night before due to family/household trauma.
This room will be used to meet their social and emotional needs throughout the day through sensory tools and activities. The students in my classroom need sensory breaks to allow for success in their academic and social life.
I have seen how well sensory breaks work for my students. With the proper materials, my students can be much more engaged in their learning.
