The books that I am requesting for my classroom library will hopefully make a difference in my students' reading lives. Many of my students never leave our city limits and I want them to travel outside our county in the pages of a book; learn more about people outside of our small community; and hopefully, learn more about themselves.
I am working with my students to build their stamina to better prepare them for life after high school, whether college, military, or the workforce. My classroom library is limited to books that I have purchased myself, books donated by family and friends, books discarded from the school library, and books left behind by a previous teacher. These books will provide my students with more choices and more experiences.
