I am the Restorative Practices Facilitator and English educator in a public school in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Our philosophy is to provide a rigorous education for students who might not always succeed in traditional school settings. We believe in educating the whole child and in providing students with an environment that is nurturing, as well as setting high expectations for our students to succeed, in high school, college and careers.
I focus on conflict resolution, peer mediation, and integrating student voices into all areas of the school, as well as community service and mentorship opportunities, to ensure that students feel supported, connected and engaged in school. A classroom teacher for 9 years, I utilize strong relationships with students to help them find passion for their academic success.
