As an art teacher, I'm always looking for ways to make my lessons connect to science. Nature printing has been a way for students to experience what they are learning with traditional techniques and processes in art. My 2nd and 4th grade students help raise Small-Fry to release back into the Chattahoochee River to increase the Rainbow Trout population.
These textured fish and reptiles will allow our students to observe the Small Fry life-cycle and use replicas to do Gyotaku printing.
Traditionally, real fish have been used in Gyotaku printing, these molds will be used yearly in a safe and clean way to give all my students a chance to create interesting prints that align with their science and art standards in an engaging way!
