Our school has been striving to incorporate STEM into our curriculum, but there is very little money allocated for this in our budget. It is primarily the responsibility of the teachers to finance any STEM activities they want to do with their students. My students embrace any opportunity I provide them with to do STEM activities.
Donations to support this project will provide an opportunity for my students to use their creativity and collaboration skills to build robotics and use basic programming.
My goal is to provide engaging, hands-on experiences for my students by doing STEM activities related to technology, Math, and Science through Lego Mindstorms. I want them to learn the design process and experience all aspects of the STEM design process. My hope is that my students start believing they can do anything they set their mind to if they are willing to work at it. I want them to experience the reality of things not working right the first time and using perseverance to accomplish a tough task by teamwork.
