By creating an environment to crave knowledge through reading, I am anticipating the arrival of these new books as a means to feed the open minds of my students. I feel I have created a safe and encouraging reading environment where in my students take risk with reading aloud, discussing what they have read and finding meaning in the novels we share as a class. I have observed that the more we read together, their confidence grows and their willingness to read more on their own increases! The connections they make with the new knowledge they are exposed to through increased reading is so inspiring. I am hoping to continue to increase student text exposure by growing my library with the receipt of such gifts as these new book sets.
