My high school students are embarking on an independent reading project for the first time since elementary school, and they need a well-equipped library to dive back into it. For many, the only time they're read a book is when it was assigned to them, but I'm looking to change that.
I want a variety of texts for students to read - mainly magazines, novels, graphic novels - so they can rediscover the reason reading isn't so bad. I'm seeking to engage them with different genres, styles, and authors, so they can learn to (at least) appreciate reading again - it's not just something assigned, but something they actually enjoy.
