A listening center will provide my students with the opportunity to listen to a text read to them. The center will model fluent and expressive reading to the children. The wireless headphones will allow them to work at their seats or up at the front of the room, if they choose. The students will love the bean bags chairs and want to be at the listening center just to sit in them! They will provide a cozy place in the classroom for my students to independently listen to a story.
These materials will benefit all 20 students in my class. They will have opportunities each week to visit the listening center and complete an activity after each story.
