Reading workshop is essential to meeting children where they are in their literacy development and moving them to greater levels of success. One hurdle to overcome is providing support to continue that work at home.
This project involves families in reading workshop at home by providing skills, strategies and books to practice each night at students’ “just right level”. This will provide books to take home to read. These books will create positive communications with parents and caregivers. The practice will enhance achievement by reading at home. The leveled library cart allows children to take ownership of their own library.
