Despite the fact that most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background with less access to reading materials at home, one thing is for sure, they love to read. I am a first grade teacher with a Master's degree in reading and I love to see a classroom full of engaged readers. One thing I noticed is that my students enjoy being able to access literature in a multitude of ways. This project will provide my students with access to books on their reading level, that are of high interest for guided reading, give them more options at the listening to reading center, and provide them with a variety of books to accompany the LeapReader system. I can't wait to see the looks on my students faces when they come to first grade and see all the ways that reading can come alive!
