My students are passionate readers and writers. This year, I have a classroom full of inspired young authors. Children whose love of reading has inspired them to become their own authors.It is not uncommon to see students scribbling notes during read aloud, sharing thoughts/feelings/connections to our stories, or hearing complaints when read aloud or S.S.R. time ends. But their true passion lies in the free time where they are able to write their own novels, inspired off of books they are reading, or their life stories. It's a way that they collaborate, it's a way that they show their creativity, it is a time where my reluctant readers write to put books into the world that they would enjoy. These books would help me to continue to encourage them to be the writer's that they are by allowing them to "publish" one of their stories.

About my class
