My students are a bright and energetic mix of elementary and jr. high school students. Our kids are learning the skills necessary to express themselves and critique the world around them.
As an art teacher funding is an issue in my state as my district is located in a rural area where cultural experiences are extremely limited. For many of my students art class is one of the few opportunities to express themselves. Since many of my kids come from backgrounds well below the poverty line it is important for them to have these opportunities. We are asking for your help in order to level the playing field for our students. They have shown they have the ability to succeed in a high paced program. Still because of their cultural surroundings and economic disadvantages it is questionable if they will have a chance to get to the next level. This would be a disservice to our children. With your help I know they can make it.
