I'll make this short and sweet. Our STEM school is an "urban" school, made up primarily of inner-city kids. The students, for the most part, have a weak foundation in math, yet they DO want to learn and succeed, just like their suburban counterparts. Unfortunately, they lack many of the basic resources you and I take for granted. One of those is graphing calculators.
A classroom set of TI-nspire calculators would be perfect! This was the calculator model chosen by the administration because of its versatility. It can do everything from basic arithmetic to algebra to statistics to calculus. The best part about them is that they will enable my students to visualize and check their work, something they are not able to do on their smartphones.
One last thing. The good folks at Ðǿմ«Ã½.org have graciously offered to match donations up to $50 when you use promo code LIFTOFF. Please do!
So let's set up my students for success. Please fund my classroom calculator project. Thanks!
