This project will provide many new wonderful math station activities for my students. The students can work cooperatively in groups with these station activities while I provide small group instruction. I have discovered, just like guided reading, small group guided math instruction greatly increases a student's ability to master math. These station activities are below, on, and above grade level (which will help every student in my room learn). These activities have specific learning goals that are directly related to the new common core. The activities target specific skills such as operations, money, fractions, geometry, place value, time and measurement. Students will work independently to find the sum of two dice, solve time & money riddles, identify fractions on a number line and more! They will keep my students focused and learning, all while having great fun! While the students are engaged and learning on their own with these stations, I can focus my attention on a small group of students. This will allow me to help those students struggling and further challenge my advanced students.
