The couch will help me take my student engagement to the next level and implement flexible seating routines. I will place the couch in the center of the classroom, where most tier one instruction will occur. I will use the basketball hoop to add gamification to lessons. My students love to play basketball, and I can incorporate a hoop into activities such as vocabulary quizzes. The LED lights were a highly requested item from my students as the fluorescent lights that are used in classrooms can be very hard on the eyes. The tapestry adds some much-needed color to the dull, white walls.
All of these will contribute to creating a welcoming classroom environment that my students can feel safe in, learn in, and enjoy being in.
