Each year, our department puts on a major concert to conclude the year. This concert is fully costumed and choreographed by students, and it's a highlight of our year! The show has a theme chosen by our Chorus student Leadership Council. This year, our leaders have chosen an 80s theme. We'll explore a wide range of music by artists of the 80s, as well as take a look at the history of the decade.
You can help us put the right materials into our students' hands and improve their music education. We have added three new choirs in recent years to better meet our students' needs, and we need sheet music suitable to each group. One of them is a second women's choir to accommodate more singers, a men's choir to create a place to address the unique issues associated with the adolescent male voice, and a contemporary a cappella ensemble to help our brightest soloists truly shine. When a new choir is created, new literature must be obtained that is sufficiently challenging while working well for the voices in that particular group.
We're especially excited to hear "Listen to Your Heart" and "Love Shack" and "She's Got a Way" should be really beautiful! When our students talk about their favorite experience during their time in our program, the overwhelming majority of them mention this concert! Thank you for helping us to create a truly special event!
