I am the lucky teacher of 22 amazing students. Many of these children are English language learners and/or have special needs. They come from very diverse backgrounds but love the adventure of learning new information.
The families in our community come from a hardworking, low income area in Connecticut. I often don't feel comfortable requesting supplies from our students' parents because most of them are working at least 2 jobs just to get by. Majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
