My biology students along with the special education program started growing vegetables using tower gardens this year. Instead of learning about photosynthesis, cellular respiration, cells and other key concepts through notes and worksheets, students are able to learn through hands-on activities involving the garden. They also learn about the importance of eating healthy meals and how to cook those meals. We would like to take the gardens a step farther and start cooking for students throughout the school. We need a shelving unit to store our minerals, pH tests, and some of our vegetables. We need the refrigerator unit to store the other vegetables that need to be refrigerated.
