I work in a K-5 elementary school. It would be considered in an urban area. It is also a Title I School. All of my students receive free lunch. Therefore, I am working with socioeconomic factors in my classroom that prohibit my students from having educational resources outside of their school day. I serve students with various academic challenges. I have many ESL students that struggle with the English language. Some of my students have IEPs and yet some are considered advanced in mathematics. Most of my students' family dynamics are either single parent households or live with adults other than their biological parents. Some of my student are considered homeless. I also have some students with psychological factors created from past experiences. My curriculum is fifth grade common core mathematics. It is my desire and my goal to give each of the students a lesson that meets their academic needs.
