As the Problem Solving teacher, I teach Talents Unlimited lessons which target higher order thinking skills. These skills are broken down into 5 areas: Productive Thinking, Communication, Decision Making, Planning, and Forecasting. I teach these very important life skills by weaving the targeted Talents Unlimited lessons into various STEM challenges. Unfortunately, all the technology that is given to the school is used within the regular classrooms, and there are no student computers available for use in the specialist classrooms. It is very challenging to do the T in STEM with one teacher computer and a Promethean board. With the addition of two Chromebooks and optical mice, my students would be able to research topics, view scientific phenomena and learn by doing instead of by listening.
