My students are children from very low income families who unfortunately attend a school with no budget for supplies. My school is old and so is everything in it. My goal is to create a safe classroom environment that feels like "home" so that the students who's home life isn't a caring and nurturing environment, feel like they have a home away from home in my classroom where they can learn and be happy. This project is about Reading Workshop. I want my students to become lifelong readers but some of them don't even have books at home.
