After teaching for 32 years, I can honestly say a document camera has enhanced the teaching in my classroom tremendously. Unfortunately my beloved technology is now over 15 years old and needs to be replaced. I truly don't know what I would do with out this piece of technology due to the drastic funding cuts over the last several years. With this technology, I can place literature and historical texts under the document camera and zoom in for all of my students to see the text clearly - even from the back of the room! I no longer just read aloud to students from our favorite books - the students can actually follow along as I read and point to the words in the text. I look forward to using our new document camera to analyze "The Gettysburg Address", the "I Have a Dream" speech and many more inspirational and historic texts.
