Our school as a multipurpose room which serves as our breakfast/lunch room and gym. Physical Education classes are held outside when the weather is ideal for students to be outside. But when the weather is cold/wet during our fall and winter months we cannot be outside with our students. Unfortunately, our gym space is occupied throughout the day with serving our students lunch and breakfast. With our Gym doubling as a lunchroom that leaves us to conduct PE in our classrooms.
The best part to cup stacking is anyone can participate especially our students with limited mobility within their legs (wheelchair/walker bound) will be able to easily participate in Physical Education class.
Using Speed Stacks (cup stacking) is an alternative activity that can be done within a classroom while still promoting the development of motor skills, patterning, sequencing, speed, focus and concentration. Cup Stacking will give students an activity that can be done in the classroom setting but stimulate hand-eye coordination and ambidexterity, which are important skills in most any sport.
