My 4th grade students range in age from 9 to 10 years old whom all have been affected by Hurricane Irma in someway. Some of their academic needs are challenging due to English language being their second language as well as many with other diverse learning goals. These learning challenges hinders their learning greatly. They have an insatiable appetite for learning anything related to reading comprehension, math, engineering, science and the arts. They deserve to learn something new everyday regardless of their vast learning challenges. They have a high motivation to learn, speak, write and read in English, while I support their social and emotional needs. The administration in our school is wonderfully supportive. I work in a school where all students come first. It is a positive atmosphere and a fun place to be.
