"Time flies when you are having fun and learning!" This is my twelfth year teaching at Chartiers Valley Middle School; my fourth year in 7th grade. I love my job. I love teaching students new words and engaging them with fun and practical writing assignments. I even try to make learning grammar something they won't fall asleep during! I regularly try to incorporate projects that tap into various skills my students possess: drawing, acting, writing, or technology based skills. Anytime someone asks me what grade I teach and I respond 7th grade (or for the first 8 years of my career 8th grade), no one ever says, "Wow what a great age!" It is always a scowl with a, "Oh middle schoolers are so tough!" I always answer with, "I love teaching 7th grade: they are the best of both worlds!"
